Have you ever had the chance to speak to someone you admire or want to work with and you had a chance to speak up, but you froze? Or how about, living your life to a lower standard and knowing what you need to do, but not doing it..being stuck in a rut that you can’t get out of.

Many of us have been in a situation like this. Be it, a top business prospect, a potential customer, or a person you’re attracted to and you’d like to ask them on a date. All of us have been there. Most of us have frozen and not been able to speak what you want to speak, if you even speak at all.

If you’re an entrepreneur, these prospects go on your “Chicken Shit list” Attack this list if you’re looking for a positive change in your life.

Or maybe you’re in a dead end relationship or job, maybe a loved one is an addict or alcoholic. Many of us are afraid to speak up or do anything about what’s bothering us.

Does any of this apply to you? Do you have a chicken shit list? Want to know the key to getting rid of this list or JOB? Or the key to making positive change in your life? Simple one word answer, Courage.  Courage is taking action in the face of fear. Pretty profound, right? Yes, so simple, it makes you almost feel stupid when you think of it. 

Courage is the key to unlocking you’re freedom. Courage to let the past go. Courage to tackle new opportunity. Courage to speak up at work. Courage to speak up to a friend or loved one. Courage to take ACTION.

Want to know the key to courage? ACTION. Yes, once again, action is the key! By taking action, you start the ball rolling, creating some momentum, which leads to more action, which leads to more action, and so on… When you take action, you also feel better and you will now feel like taking the actions you need to take. (Even though, you should not live according to how you feel) So if you’re looking for a positive change in your life, courage is the key to taking action.

In Landmark, the forum leader used a tennis analogy. Imagine watching a tennis match. The ball goes back and forth, over and over. You watch this, but can not affect what is going on. Now, jump in the game. Take action, participate in the game, even get to the point where you dictate the game. This is life. Life happens for you, not to you(Thanks for sharing Brian Fanale!). Life is your tennis court. It’s up to you to create the action, so you quit looking for a positive change in your life and start BEING positive change in your life!

 

 

I recently met with the a business mentor of mine. He’s the president of  a large company. (200+million in annual revenue, maybe more?).

We have an annual meeting to catch up with each other. I’ve known my friend, Gary, for 20 years. He’s always been someone that I could share ideas with and talk business with. He’s one of the most successful people I know. So I was excited to meet with him and I planned on showing him my green energy business presentation. We spent most of our time catching up and sharing stories, till we were almost done, I almost blew it! But, I did not, even though I was not sure what he’d think. I knew I had something good to share with him. I had courage and asked if I could share it with him. He said “Yes, of course”. And he liked it! I’m sure many additional opportunities will arise out of me taking action in the moment. As I’ve stated before and I took this from Landmark, I am the possibility of Freedom, I am the possibility of Courage, and I am the possibility of Compassion.

I often used to wonder, “What does it take to build a successful network marketing business?” Thanks to Bob Quintana for sharing his 4 Pillars to being a Successful Entrepreneur with me

Many people have different thoughts on what it takes to be a successful Entrepreneur.  I used to think, all I needed was positive energy and drive. Napoleon Hill points out his reasons for failure,along with many things needed for success.

One winter day in 2013, I had the pleasure to have an introduction to a new business mentor. Entrepreneur, Bob Quintana.

It was on this call that Bob shared his 4 Pillars to being a successful Entrepreneur with me. These pillars of success are;

  1. Duplication- We must have a business and a system that we are able to duplicate. Ever hear of McDonald’s, Starbuck’s, or Subway? All of these businesses are very successful but also have a model that they are able to duplicate, over and over and over. If you’re doing something in your business, that you can’t teach others to duplicate, you’re doing it wrong!
  2. Fast Start Training- We must be able to get new employees, associates or affiliates, started quickly. There should be a training model and system to get new people up and running FAST. When people are engaged and making $, they are likely to stick with a job or new business, longer
  3. Promotion- Promotion is a HUGE part of network marketing, especially, but also in business. If you don’t promote your business or event, nobody will know about it. When it comes to promoting events, knowing how to properly promote, is the most important thing about events.
  4. Taprooting- This is finding the newest person in your organization, that has potential to be a “player” and spending time mentoring this individual. This is important in traditional business as well as network marketing, if you want your business to grow and Duplicate!

With Life Often “Lifeing” Us, it’s often difficult to keep a positive energy about us.

Often times in the past, it was near impossible for me. When you have a negative energy or mind set, it’s often hard to take action. If you’re looking to be successful,  you need to know what it takes to give you a positive energy.

One thing I’ve done to create a positive energy for myself, is re-programming.

Everything you do in life, every experience you experience, whether you remember these experiences today or not, creates “files” that are stored in your brain. In your subconscious. These files affect everything you do. Many of these files are old files, they are outdated and are no longer needed. Most of us don’t know how to just “delete” or “overwrite” these files. We can accomplish this via reading and personal development. One even better method is a program I graduated from, called The Landmark Forum. It was here that I was able to rid myself of the old, outdated files that were stored in my subconscious and prevented me from creating and adding new files. At Landmark I was able to start fresh with a new hard drive.

Another habit I’ve added to my daily schedule to keep positive energy is, repeating affirmations.

I have 11 affirmations that I repeat to myself at least twice a day. Usually more. I saved these affirmations in Evernote. I then took a screen shot of my screen and saved this image as my lock screen on my phone. Thus, every time I look at my phone, I see my affirmations. I will share a few of mine;

  1. Bob Quintana(My mentor in Green Energy), not only am I going to challenge you at the post, but I will beat you at the grandstand.
  2. I am a million dollar earner
  3. I am the possibility of Freedom
  4. I am the possibility of Courage
  5. I am the possibility of Compassion

I have more, but all of these should be personal to each individual. Another way I’m using these affirmations, is at part of my vision, that I sit quietly for 10 minutes every morning and night, to think about and visualize myself in. Living life daily, from my vision

A third habit for positive energy is Deep Sleep Programming. I’ve heard others speak of it and I’ve often wondered about it. I was interested to see how this could assist with positive energy.

Then I heard April Marie Tucker talk about this, on one of the MLSP Morning Wake UP Calls. These calls are amazing, by the way. These calls are at 10 AM Central M-F. 712.432.3431. Pin 399808#.

Anyways, April talked about Deep Sleep Programming (Click Here for my saved YouTube play list) and I implemented this immediately. Your brain and subconscious is receptive, even while sleeping! This means we all have 6-8 hours of potential learning and affirmations that we could be using. This is another great way to keep positive energy.

If you allow burnout and stress to run its course, it will leave you like the pictured car.

A shell of a person. Just a body walking through life trying to survive. This is NO WAY TO LIVE!!! Life does not need to be like that! Burnout leads to lack of creativity, poor performance and disengagement. Burnout and stress also affect you physically and can cause the following symptoms; fatigue, lack of sleep,sickness, depression, anxiety, and other physical ailments. Burnout has ruined many careers. Stress has even more negative side effects wreaks havoc on your health.

You can manage and control stress!

You must remember, stress is FAKE! 100% made up from the voices in your head. Telling you stories about what may or may not happen. Throw the voices in a closet and slam the door! Yes! It really is that simple(with proper training)

How do I manage this?

It’s important to regenerate your energy. Without this, you are likely going to flame out. There are 3 steps to regeneration. These are

  1. Exercising some mind control. Think of blissful things. Or think of a time when you were fulfilled
  2. Remember… Your J.O.B does NOT define you! You are MUCH more than your job. You MUST live a balanced life with the following elements.
    1. Career
    2. Family
    3. Financial
    4. Physical health
    5. Learning and personal development
    6. Recreation
    7. Social
    8. Spiritual

If you’re missing something from that list, you’re doing it WRONG. Add that list to your agenda and make some time in your calendar to live a balanced life.

3. Become accountable for your own life!! When I was running my asphalt paving company. I allowed stress to eat me alive. I worried about employees, the economy, unions, etc… All things I can’t control. I took back control of my life by selling my problems to someone else 😉

I am personally accountable for my own life and everything that happens in it. This has helped eliminate the stress from my life.

There area a few other things I have done to eliminate stress and burn out from my life that I recommend for EVERYONE!

  1. Grow!! Always be learning. Read. Take courses. When you are growing, you are focused on the new stuff and not on the stress
  2. Meditation. Meditate at least 10 minutes every day. This is mind control. The ultimate level of personal development and taking control of yourself and your life,  is controlling your own mind. Set a timer for 10 minutes and close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. Every time you have a though, pluck the though from your mind like its a weed. It’s VERY tough to do this for 10 minutes. But your brain needs this! You must rest your brain and clear your mind, so new thoughts and Ideas can have room to grow
  3. Take a personal development course. I recommend Landmark. You can check out a short 10 minute video Here. Landmark was LIFE CHANGING for me and other’s I’ve shared Landmark with. There are MANY  ways this program helped me and enhanced my life. Landmark is for everyone, no matter where in your life or career you are at.
  4. I subscribe to and recommend, a 4 day weekend every 8 weeks. You need to recharge your batteries and remind yourself why you work hard. I’ve had many arguments with my dad on this, but for me, this step is 100% necessary, to avoid burn out
  5. Daily physical activity. Even if its only 15 minutes of sit ups, push ups and treadmill. This is VERY important. You only get 1 body and if you don’t maintain it, you will wear it out. Then you are out of business!

“I’m Trying, but the results just aren’t there. What am I doing wrong?”

That’s a question I often hear. It’s often an easy one, but not a simple one. Many of our “projects” don’t take off for a variety of reasons. On a conference call today, Aron Parker covered this topic. This info is applicable to ALL businesses, relationships, projects, ETC….They ALL need results

Good Intentions is the FIRST Step, but not the ONLY step

Many of us think, because we mean well, that should be “Good Enough”. Well, I hate to break it to you, this isn’t “Good Enough”. Your business is not a lottery that you throw your $ in and wait and hope you are the winner! The guts of the call were the following

  • You MUST make a shift to take DAILY SPECIFIC ACTIONS. Otherwise, YOU WILL NOT MAKE IT!
    • NOT INTENTIONS, BUT ACTIONS!
    • I recommend planning these actions the day before
  • Consistency. You must take massive daily action, every day!
  • Language is important. Substitute the terms “Some Day, hopefully, etc..” with “Action, purpose, now, discipline, habits”
  • You must move from Good Intentions to Good Actions

I cried, I was laughing so hard. Was my public speaking that bad?

I realized that if a friend that knows me, thinks I sound like a goofball, imagine what others might think! Not that I really care, but the point is NOT to sound like a cult leader. I realized it was time to get to the point. I needed to improve my public speaking and have a quick point or 2 to my videos. And why not read a book that I had already bought! Public Speaking Magic. Nice, short 100 page book. So take out a pen and paper to take notes. You won’t want to miss this part. Public Speaking 101

1) Ask a Question, I did this! 2) Tell a story( I did this too!) 3) Do an exercise.(BOOM!) These 3 methods, especially when used together are GUARANTEED TO WORK!
